‘Psychology Moving Humanity Forward’

The BPS is honoured to host our European colleagues in the UK for the European Semester January to June 2018, to work together to share our psychological science and professional practice across EFPA.

All information about the Semester can be found at , the site is being updated as new information becomes available.

About the British Psychological Society BPS

The BPS is the representative body for psychology and psychologists in the UK. It was established in 1901 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1965.

We are responsible for the promotion of excellence and ethical practice in the science, education, and practical applications of psychology.

We have over 60,000 members across the UK and internationally, ranging from students to qualified psychologists.

We support and enhance the development and application of psychology for the greater public good.

We set high standards for research, education, and knowledge, and seek to disseminate these to increase wider public awareness of psychology and its importance.

Policy and Communications

We aim to share policy objectives and activity over the period of the Semester. In the UK our focus in the first half of 2018 is on:

  • Launch of our revised code of ethics
  • A new report on Obesity
  • An updated report on Autism
  • Responding to the UK Governments Green Paper on Children and Young People’s Mental Health.
